Lori's class was excellent. I appreciated the way that she structured the class. She focused on getting to know the camera features and settings (for the Nikon, Sony, and Canon users in attendance), offered great examples of how to compose a pleasing photograph based on art theory, and offered encouragement. Lori was patient and took time to answer questions and solve issues (like a camera timer that wouldn't turn off) that arose. Based on this very positive experience, my husband and I are already planning on taking more classes with Lori and are excited about joining the quarry outing next week. Outstanding class, great pace, right amount of encouragement. I left feeling energized to learn more and my initial stress about mastering the dials and setting on my camera was greatly reduced.

March is a great month to find migrating birds such as indigo and painted buntings. Sarasota Florida has several locations where they can be found. On this day I was able to find both at one location. If you?re thinking about traveling to Florida there are so many places to observe wildlife not found in California.

Title or Location: Seka Hills Almond Orchard. Brooks, California
Visiting a winery that opened their almond orchard to artists one morning. I didn't know what to expect so I brought several lenses, but my favorite shots were with my 70-200 to get this shot. The post post processing involved adding vibrancy but reducing saturation, and fixing the horizon with a slight crop to get the look I wanted. Canon 6dII, 200mm, 1/640 SS, F/5, ISO 500 and spot metering for lighting. The important thing was to not walk out into the trees area and disturb the branches.
