Excellent location, and excellent weather, and excellent leader in Laurie Gallant. The grasses were fresh and the wild flowers were just staring to pop. We could just get a glimpse of the Sierra.

Title or Location: Bald Eagle Qualicum Beach Vancouver Island BC
While watching herring boats fish off the beach dozens of eagles flew overhead to join the fishing boats. After fishing for several minutes some eagles came back to rest on the beach, along the bank of the river and on branches or snags. The bald eagle in the picture perched itself on one of the branch along the river and posed for several minutes as it was starting to rain. I?ve never seen so many eagles in one place.

Effie Yeaw is one of my favorite locations in Sacramento to photograph wildlife. On this particular Friday morning several Quail were on and nearby the walking paths. I was able to capture several photographs with my Sony a6400 / 150-500 f5-6.7 mm lens.

I love picking up my camera every chance I get, and sometimes it?s just to shoot photos in my own backyard. This photo was taken the last weekend in April, and shot with my Sony A7iii /90 mm f 2.8 macro lens. This has been my go to lens for creating beautiful bokeh.

I regularly photographed this male Anna?s hummingbird (Anna calypte) during his morning feeding trips to a woolly grevillea (Grevillea lanigera) plant. In this April 2023 shot, he flew over the plant in a way that let me use both foreground & background bokeh to create depth. Luckily, his gorget perfectly refracted the available light. The shot was edited on my iPad Pro with Snapseed, then later denoised & selectively sharpened with Topaz on my MacBook Pro.

Bison were close to the road but this grouping in front of the tree and Rocky Mountains in the background caught my eye. On a clear day you can see Denver in the background before the mountains. It?s not very often when I end up with a good landscape picture worth sharing.

Title or Location: Charlies Hut, Carneys Creek
As anyone who chases milkyway photos will tell you, they take some careful planning and often a lack of sleep. Charlies Hut is in the Scenic Rim. It's about a 2hr drive from home, and with the help of Photopills, we could see that the moon would have set with the milkyway still visible at about 4am. So alarms were set for 1.30am, coffee was made and off we went. I use the intervalometer on my Canon 6D mark ii to shoot between 15-20 images of the sky. The lens I used was a Samyang 14mm, set

Title or Location: Just north of Brechin on Hwy 169.
May 10 the northern lights hit a G5 storm, a KP index of 9, the highest it will go, and the best storm we've seen in over 20 years. I drove my 10 year old son north to see them, this was a chance of a lifetime. I managed to get several amazing photos. Canon R6M2, RF10-20mm lens at 10mm, 30sec at f4, iso 1000, manual focusing. This was looking more north-west as most of the bright colours could be seen to the south, west and just north of us.

Title or Location: Stub Stewart State Park Hilltop area
This was the day of famous Northern Lights visible in most of the North America. Stubs Stewart is the most ideal dark area for star gazing so I reached there around 11pm. As expected, it was full of enthusiasts. The lights were predicted to be at peak between 10pm - 2am. Around 2pm, when we though the "show was over", the lights started getting incredibly bright, and that is when this picture was taken. Interestingly, the lights were bright in some regions and other regions were faded enough to
