These beautiful images are all around us in nature. It just takes that special "eye" to not only see it but to capture it in a way that will turn that simple little piece of nature into a beautiful piece of art. I enjoyed the practice and opportunity to learn from Laurie and others. After looking at some of the group members photos, I realize I missed a lot! I was expecting a more traditional garden that was well kept, sometimes the weeds were in the way. I probably wouldn't go back, pretty far to drive.

I had a chance to use my 100-400 mm !ens on flowers, and I am pleased with the results. Probably would not have considered a long lens for such a class, but Laurie' s motto has always been to experiment and add to your repertoire

I loved the venue. The only reason I gave it a 4 was I was frustrated that other photographers started wondering through the middle of the field right from the start and getting the way way of others shots for extended amount of time. I thought to do the perimeter first and let everyone focus on the MAIN event and then go through the field with a fine tooth comb looking for "that" shot. In my mind just an etiquette thing. I tried to stay away from others shooting direct. Maybe it's just me. BUT the location was great and I though Laurie was a treat to meet. I might back back at another time early for another try at shot I missed or couldn't get.
